Because of it, convicted criminals will now be allowed to join the Russian military—it will essentially become a force composed of thieves, rapists, and smugglers. A young Russian remarked, “What will become of our supporters if this happens?” Furthermore, regarding this half-baked idea of drafting prisoners into the military, I have no idea from which dubious source they picked it up. He added that if leaders who come up with such misguided ideas continue to hold power, they surely won’t be worth a single kyat.
